We just ordered some wings and a bulgogi sub while visiting our son at Fort Eustis and I have to say these are some of the best wings I have ever had! Super crispy and full of flavor! We got the Soy Garlic Butter and the Spicy Hot. The spicy hot liver up to their name with plenty of heat but I could not stop eating them. If we lived closer this would definitely be a regular stop for us. The gentlemen that took my order was super nice and seemed to take pride in his craft. If you have never tried Yellow Submarine then drop what you are doing and go now!

I have tried the chicken wings there. They are so good. I have tried the sub the Philly cheese and it was great. I recommend the Yellow Submarine to anyone.

Everything we ordered was great. Bulgogi sub, Korean fried wings. I wanted the ramen but since the broth was homemade we ordered a bit too late to get it. Recommend getting it at least 3 hours before close. We will be back to try it.

I have gone to this place twice! The food is always jam packed with flavor and they have a variety of food options to choose from. The guy who takes the orders is always really nice. The food always come out hot and fresh. I highly recommend this place if you're new to korean food and want to give it a try. Nothing too overwhelming. The food options are very much close to home except with a Korean flare. The exterior is deceiving. It looks like a convenience store from the outside. But the interior is cozy and yet no one eats inside. Half the time, people come in for to-go orders. So if you like a peaceful meal, now is probably the best time to dine in there before the people catch on and start dining in! And if you're feeling lucky, you can also try your hand with the lottery, which they also offer!

Korean fried chicken, legit Korean ramen. If it were a bit more spicy I'd be there every week.

Happened to be in Newport News and wanted to try a restaurant on my list. Visited with my bestie not knowing what to expect. We looked over the menu and decided to order the Beef bulgogi with white rice, mandu and the spicy yangnum wings. The beef bolgogi was savory, tender, well marinated and yummy. The rice was steamed nicely and was a great addition. The meal also came with cucumber kimchi which provided great crunch, balance and acidity. I would love to try the spicy one next. The mandu was amazing. The outside was crispy and the filling was hot steamy and fresh, similar to a spring roll. It also came with a sweet soy sauce for dipping. Wings were good but they weren't as crispy as expected. They were well sauced & HUGE. Probably the biggest wings I've seen from the drums to the flats they looked like they could beat me up. All in all I liked this place, the service was kind and quick, the food was good & the atmosphere was charming.

Yellow Submarine has been on my list for awhile, having heard that it was a Korean spot that offered KFC and some fast casual Korean eats. They also have regular fried chicken too and some fish fry baskets. From what I observed, I believe they have the licensing for Krispy Krunchy Chicken too (it's posted next to the store name on their store front). - Parking - Private lot. - Vibe - If you are wondering about the restaurant name, yes, it seems to have been named after The Beatles song, Yellow Submarine. It's completely painted yellow and has a few framed posters of the artwork for this song in a few places throughout the restaurant. The place seems a little dated, but kept tidy. There are a few arcade games to the left, a counter for cigarettes and lotto tickets in the middle, and then a separate counter for the food orders. - Noms - Korean spicy chicken sandwich: This was a good sandwich in itself, but having had my share of Korean style chicken sandwiches in the area, this wasn't my favorite. The sandwich is tasty and a generous portion. It comes on a large, sesame bun, with an oversized chicken patty, that was cut very thin, slathered in a spicy, gochujang based sauced with some kind of mayo-y slaw relish-like topping. Again, it was good, but compared to others, I prefer the others. 6 piece chicken wings in yangnum sauce - this is where it's at! The wings were true to KFC (Korean fried chicken) style. Super crispy and crunchy in a delicious gochujang based sauce. I should have ordered some rice and kimchi and then I would have been set! The nice man who took my order gave me a Bacchus to drink, which is a Korean energy drink. Fun fact: Bacchus is the inspo behind Red Bull. Growing up, my mom used to give me a Bacchus every time we went to the pharmacy so this brought back some memories! I had forgotten how good it tasted! I will definitely be back to try the Korean food items on my next trip and I was told to get the bulgogi sub! Enjoy, Friends!

This is a converted 7-11. The decor is a homage to the Beatles and the song Yellow Submarine. Not sure the connection to Korean Fried Chicken and a generally Korean themed restaurant, but I hope that it succeeds. Seemed a little empty for lunch time when we arrived. There were a few patrons and everyone seemed to patiently wait for their food. Truth is, good KFC takes time if it's double fried. So expect to wait a little and maybe best to call 20-30 minutes ahead if you're taking out. Prices are reasonable. There's a nice chicken sandwich special as well as a few ramen options. While the ramen is not much more than an package of Shin or Jin Ramyun that you can make at home, it satisfies a kid's needs, but probably not an adult's. As for the KFC, the flavors (soy garlic) are true. A little wetter than your Bonchon's and BB.Q's (KFC chains). They could go a little lighter with the sesame seeds. There's a good deal of the menu that we could continue to explore as well as some video games to keep you occupied. All in all, a neat little establishment
